Our Story

Hello!! 

My name is Jaimie and I am the Owner and Founder of Henrietta Spencer. 

I was born in Suffolk, England before moving to Spain with my parents and sisters, living and growing up there for nearly 20 years until moving back to Suffolk at the age of 31 in 2017.

Suffolk was were I met my Fiancé Spencer, combining his name and my middle name Henrietta created the business name - 'Henrietta Spencer'.

After moving back to England, I wanted to bring some of that Spanish Mediterranean style and craftsmanship to the UK.  After much research I found a small factory which agreed to make some unique basket bag styles of my own, something in the beginning they said would be impossible..... but I can be very persuasive!

All our bags are individually hand crafted, made with the highest quality natural materials, and the finest full grain genuine leather. 

I wanted to bring a wow factor, with more leather, linings with zips, introduce new styles such as backpacks and clutch bags. Gone are the days of the boring beach bag. We want our basket bags to be used for every occasion, whether it be a 'dinner date' or 'shopping trip' 

Sustainability is close to my heart. We have to be kind to our planet, single use bags are a thing of the past! You have to make these changes now and there is no better way to start than buying an everyday Henrietta Spencer basket bag. We use the absolute minimal plastic on our bags and in our packaging..... NO 'fast fashion' here!

We have signed up for some big shows this year including The Royal Norfolk Show, The Suffolk Show, The Kent County Show and The Game Fair and we would love to see you there.
